This is a "Native Person", that is the correct terminology today. It was pretty interesting to talk to him. He is part of the Plimouth Plantation visit. He was pretty sure the white man would come back to the "Native People" again as things got bad and they would again teach us how to live on the land and survive. Nice fellow. You can't tell here but I guess the "Native People" didn't wear a whole lot of clothes.

Here is Elaine standing in front of the oldest house in Plymouth. It is known as the Sparrow house. We would of went inside but it cost $2 a person, besides we could see in through the open door...duh!

After the Sparrow house we went down to the dock and toured the Mayflower II. It is a recreation of the original Mayflower. It was constructed in England in 1955 and sailed across the Atlantic to Plymouth. It was a neat experience to get on this ship and realize that 104 people, not including the 33 members of the ships crew, traveled across on this ship. It is extremely smaller then I thought. They arrived in Plymouth in March and by the time the shipped sailed back to England half the crew had died and only 55 members of the original party were alive. They were originally suppose to land in New York but as fortune would have it, they landed here and the rest is history.

This is the Pilgrim Colony at the Plimouth Plantation. It was well done, close to a city block of structures. They had actors playing the roles of early pilgrims and they would not get out of character. Elaine asked one, as we entered a cabin and she was cleaning up from a meal, if they actually ate the stuff? She turned and looked at Elaine and said, "I don't know why I'd be cleaning it up if I hadn't eaten it." They would not budge. One of the other actors asked where we were from. When we said Utah she responded with, "I've never heard of it, but it must be a good place because you both look healthy."

Then we had lunch...

and stoled one of the pilgrims drinking bottles, we caught them...

This is one of the fellows. They were pretty entertaining.
It was a fun day. It was much slower paced then the day before when we went into Boston. We were leg weary from all the walking the day before so we took it at a nice slow pace. It is amazing to see what the pilgrims had to endure to start a life. I'm glad we have what we do.
See ya tomorrow.
